    COACHING HIGHLIGHTS

  • Led Ole Miss to its first 10-win season since 1971 with a 10-3 mark in 2003.
  • The Rebels went 7-1 in the SEC in 2003 to claim a share of its first-ever SEC Western Division title.
  • Guided Ole Miss to four bowl games in his six seasons, and compiled a 4-1 record in bowl games, including the 35-18 win over Texas Tech duiring his first career game in the 1998 Independence Bowl.
  • The Rebels' appearance in the 2004 SBC Cotton Bowl Classic was the Rebels' first New Year's Day bowl game since the 1991 Gator Bowl.
  • Was the only coach in school history to win at least seven games in each of his first five seasons, and joined the legendary John Vaught as the only coach in school history to record at least five straight seven-win seasons.
  • Coached Heisman Trophy finalist QBs Peyton Manning (Tennessee) and Eli Manning (Ole Miss).
  • Eli Manning won the 2003 Maxwell Award, for the nation's top collegiate player, and the 2003 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, for the country's top senior quarterback.
  • PK Jonathan Nichols won the 2003 Lou Groza Award for the nation's top place kicker.
